Letters From Home…

I got a heads up from one of my readers about this website called Let’s Say Thanks. Anyone who wants to, can go there and send a free, personalized, printed postcard to the troops overseas.
It’s a great cause and I’m sure it means more than we can know to the men and women over there protecting our freedoms. It only takes a couple of minutes and it’s just a nice thing to do.
Also, when you are there, click on the “From the Troops” button. You will see a small write-up about a reservist, Mike Corrado who wrote and recorded a song called My Watch Tonight. You can watch the video which is touching and powerful. I highly recommend it.
I’m also adding the link to Let’s Say Thanks to my sidebar.
Thanks,
WC

Done, would be good to see something like this for the Aussie soldiers that are all over the world. I may have a hunt, make a few phonecalls and see if there is, and if not why not.
You know, I didn’t notice if it was just for American troops or all the troops. Maybe you could contact them and ask. If they don’t, maybe they are willing to expand it to all the troops over there. I mean for cripes-sake they are all keeping our butts safe, no matter what country they hail from. Right?

How uncanny you should put this up today. I live in a very small rural town and word just came in today that one of our local guys was killed yesterday in Irac. Thanks for the link WC….
Oh, how sad. I’m so sorry for his family. Yeah, spread the word on the link. It really takes so little to make another person feel better. And how effortless could it be? Thanks!

Great thing WC had a friend who served a tour in Iraq. She would send out some emails now and then of how things in her daily life in Iraq were….. if you want I can send you some of Dana’s photos they are saved on the Kodak share photos site…. nice to see the other side of what is going on… not just what the press want s you to see and hear… Kids getting schools built and supplies…. troops handing out candy, people lining up to cast thier votes was quite moving…
That’s great, Ger. I plan to do a couple of posts in the future on Iraq – I’ll get the photos from you as the time approaches. Okay?
