Writing a Novel is…

Which is why I’m only on page 55 of the third draft. Do you want your book to be good or fast? I’m going for good.

  1. Going for good is the right choice. I’ve had one book published and the second is due out soon. I am writing my third. It sounds impressive but when I read my first book I think, “I could have done better than this” but I felt rushed by my publisher who wanted the manuscript. I am saying | felt rushed, and not that I was rushed. Anyway, now I am writing my third book, and I want it to be as good as I can make it, so I will not rush. I am pleased you have made the same decision, but much earlier than me

    1. Hi Ducks,
I feel the same way about my first book. There is a big difference between good and good enough, yeah? Whether it’s an internal editor or an external editor, I think we all go through that rushed feeling. As though we may be too late if we take our time writing a book. But how could that be true? If you write the best book you can, then time should irrelevant, right?

Thanks for your comments and encouragement. Good luck with your third!
