Giving Thanks

I’m off to Santa Barbara for a long overdue reunion with dear friends. But I wanted to leave this for you to read. It was a bit of a surprise to me as I had no idea that the origins of Thanksgiving did not center around the pilgrims.

Enjoy yourselves, eat hearty and good. Look around and feel gratitude for all the many things large and small that give your life meaning. Hold those you love close and tell them you love them. And say a prayer for those you can not hug.

Happy Thanksgiving. I will see you in a few days.

    I hope you had a lovely holiday Eka. I had a great time but I don’t think I got nearly enough pictures – though my camera was there during the whole time I just about forgot to use it. 😉

    The trip was safe – based on what I’ve consumed in the last several days and the fact that me and Ducky (my chum) were having farting contests until we passed out from laughter, I can’t say healthy – and yes quite happy but bittersweet for off they go back to Texas.

  3. Glad to know you will be spending the time with those that are special to you! I hope you too have a moment to reflect on the things in life that bring you joy and happiness. Even those times that life might not have been all that great, but at least you walked away from whatever it was a better,bigger & wiser person!

    I did indeed have time to reflect – particularly when surrounded by truly dear friends – like family really. LOL – I burst into tears when I saw them and burst into tears as we said good bye tonight. It’s hard to be apart from those kindred spirits in your life – but so joyful when you are together. Although between you and me if I don’t eat another restaurant meal for several more weeks I will be happy. My poor stomach is in utter shock. 😉

    thanks buddy! I really did. I hope you got your fill of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce as well. Tell me, are you one of those who deep frys the bird? I hear it’s big in the lone star state.

  5. Thanks to this….In 1941, Congress moved the holiday from the last Thursday in November to the 3rd Thursday, in hopes of stimulating the economy by lengthening (in some years) the Christmas shopping season.

    Really? You must be on the inside track for this stuff – that’s news to me.

    LOL – you had to be there to understand. Things were moving so fast that I just never had the thought of the camera. Luckily my friend Ducky got a lot of shots, which she will probably share.

  8. LMAO @ the comment about farting, you’ve really embraced being an honorary member of our family havn’t you??!!
    No holiday is complete without the farting, and it IS healthy, can you imagine what would happen if you DIDN’T let it all out?!
