Dr Phil Says…

Yay! Another useless test that we can do that will tell us what we probably already know about ourselves. But hell, I love to waste time, don’t you? Don’t peek, but begin the test as you scroll down and answer. Okay, I know you’ll peek anyway but you have to sort of play along with these guys, right?

Answers are for who you are now — not who you were in the past. (glad they cleared that up, eh? )Have pen or pencil and paper ready. This is a real test given by the Human Relations Dept. at many of the major corporations today. It helps them get better insight concerning their employees and prospective employees. (Now, I really doubt this because it probably comes under the heading of profiling or discrimination or some such based on all the stupid ass laws we have on the books now, but it sounds good, huh?).

10. (a) 4 (b) 2 (c) 3 (d) 5 (e) 6 (f) 1

Now add up the total number of points.

OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should “handle with care.” You’re seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don’t always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you.

51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who’s quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who’s constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who’ll always cheer them up and help them out.

31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who’s extremel y loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn’t want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don’t exist. Some people think you’ re boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren’t.

Wasn’t that fun! Don’t you feel like you’re more in touch with your feelings now? Did it give a sense of I’m okay, You’re okay? Hahahahahahahaha.

(I scored 39 points by the way – which apparently means I am only semi-neurotic. – WC)

  1. I got 47…bit of a giggle actually! I must say if I was presented with this at a prospective employers place, I would turn around and walk out. That first question alone would prejudice me for most jobs!!
    Kelly

Yeah that is why I questioned this actually being a bonafide employment test. It’s awfully personal and I wouldn’t take it if they gave it to me.

  2. I scored a 43. Looks like I’m hiding my neurosis just enough to seem almost normal!

Plus you’re tall and short people probably can’t see it right away… 😉

  3. i got a problem with question #3, I mean REALLY there is not enough information to answer that one. Am i sitting or standing? Am i at work or a social gathering? Do i like the person talking to me or not? HOW can you possibly answer that question without more info?? And how about #9, huh? I do 2 of those things at the same time, am i supposed to add those together and than take the average???? I tell you Dr. Phil is the one who’s N-U-T-S!!! IF that’s his REAL NAME…..that is…..

Easy there girlie – it’s just a dumb ol’ test. We were doing it for fun. And Yeah, I doubt Phil or Dr. really has anything to do with his real name. What a jamoke!

  4. Hi wc,

Something is wrong here, because I came out with a negative number? Oh, well.

    the Grit

LOL Grit! I love it! What negative number did you come up with? We’ll have to write Dr. Phil for a special reading of your score. 😆

I had to laugh at the ‘handle with care’ for people scoring 60+.
Reminds me of the Larsen cartoon “Ways nature says, ‘Do not touch'”

LOL – yes the ‘handle with care’ one scared me. Thank gawd we are middle of the road neurotic, eh?

  6. No wonder we get along..I got 39 too. But I dispute the answer….I don’t know WHO they were talking about, but it wasn’t me!

LOL – so cool you faked em out. Take the test to all your job interviews, maybe they’ll hire you cuz Dr. Phil said so, eh? Could happen. 😉

  7. Hi wc,

I scored -7, 2012, and 0 before the other voices in my head got bored and insisted we leave.

    the Grit (and company)

    Hey Grit & Co,
I am very impressed by your score. I think though that it means you are way beyond Dr. Phil tests and need heavy meds at once. Or…in the alternative your own planet. LOL. I sure do like you though. 😆

  8. Hi WC,

Tanks Grit. Tell voice #6 he can’t come play if he won’t play nice then. 😉

  9. I got a 48. I was thinking I’d be over 60 when I read what it meant 🙂 I didn’t get a job once at Red Lobster (back in college) because I failed the personality test. You know the agree, disagree, strongly agree, etc. I think it was mostly because I lose interest in long, drawn out tests that ask me the same question fifty different ways……..wow, that made me chuckle thinking about it. Great post chickie!

LOL – that’s funny because I hate doing tests for the same reason. It’s as if they think you don’t notice that they are asking the same set of 10 questions 150 ways. Why not just ask the ten questions and get it over with.

Ooooh, you thought you’d be a ‘handle with care’ type? Hehehehehehehe. Luckily these tests are about as accurate as the sex tests they have in Cosmo magazine. 😉

That’s the spirit! Don’t let the world label you. Especially the likes of Dr Phil and his cronies from hackdom. To me, these tests are a bunch of hooey and should be made fun of.
