Green-Eyed Monster

Do you remember the first time you ever felt jealousy? I do. It was in kindergarten and Rudy Richards (little hotty that he was) was my sorta boyfriend.

He used to run at me, kiss me, knock me on my dainty little butt and take off like the wind again. Ah, bliss. My heart did a little pitter pat whenever he was around. He always shared his apple with me and would push me on the swings. Plus he had a really nice mom.

Life was sweet until Rudy set his sights on Judy Thompson – the littleΒ  harlot with her ruffles and dimpled cheeks. Oh yeah, once he saw her, I was like yesterday’s milk. No more running kisses for me. His heart had been taken by another.

Well, that’s all water under the bridge now. And it’s especially fun that he grew up to be a hoodlum and God knows where Judy ended up.

But I wonder, did the Rudy incident set me up where men were concerned? Did he instill in me a distrust at that young an age? Did he scar me for life? Hell, no. But it is amusing to think about.

So, what was the first pangΒ  you ever felt from the green-eyed monster? Did you survive it? Are you still hurting? Did you have the last laugh?

  1. To be honest, I can’t remember.
It may have been in 5th grade.
Kathy Vigeant was my girlfriend, a relationship that consisted of smiling and waving to each other on our way to class.
I think she told me to “sit on this and rotate”, a phrase I hadn’t heard before.
I thought it was some bizarre celestial offering…yeah, right.
Anyway, she got herself a new boy-toy and I lit an entire book of matches and burned her nasty picture.
Your selection of post pictures continues to amaze me.
Love the new header. Not sure what the hell it is but I love it.

Oh my – sit on this and rotate? I remember that saying and it wasn’t nice. Yes, the ritual burning of the former love’s picture is always in style. I believe I’ve partaken of this particular pleasure myself in the past. Now, I just run them through the shredder (trying to be greener in my life, know what I’m saying?) πŸ˜†

Isn’t that pic a hoot? Funny thing is the dismayed young lady in it, looks rather like I did when I was a very little girl. I’m seriously wondering if my Ma has sold some of my old pictures. πŸ˜‰

PS: The header is an abstract called Flattery – Unfortunately, it won’t let me insert it here – dang it. I can send you a link to the pic if you want to see it. Or maybe I’ll use it in a post.

  2. I am not by nature a jealous person. It is one of the few vices that I do not indulge in.

BTW- Judy is probably a crack ho.

Well Evyl, you’re a better man that I, in that case. And I’m sure Judy is a crack-ho, at the very least. πŸ˜†

  3. My was a bad boy a couple times dated Sisters there were 3 in the family (not at the same time)
Roomates a my sisters dorm and others in the dorm plus the RA πŸ˜‰ all over a couple years time

So Ger, sounds like you and ol’ Rudy were twin brothers of another mother. πŸ˜‰

  4. “Life was sweet until Rudy set his sights on Judy Thompson – the little harlot ”

OMG, “Little Harlot” ha! ha! ha! ha! lol. Mine was more as a teenager. I was living in Kansas at the time and my best friend came to visit and all of my guy friends went ga-ga over her. I was like, WTF? Am I chopped liver? I felt like “yesterdays milk” — where do you come up with this stuff! Hilarious!

    Hey Bella,
Oh yeah, the beautiful stranger visiting from out of town – I am familiar with that animal too. Hussies, all! πŸ˜†

    I’m not sure where I get any of this stuff – it invades my mind and demands publication. I simply abide the beast. ;

  5. lol@little harlot, now be honest here, is that EXACTLY what you thought at the time??!!
I don’t really remember my first jealous episode ever, but have a few im not going to share here πŸ™‚ By nature i’m not the jealous type, although I have turned green once or twice in my life, as we all have

Well, I’m not sure that word actually formed in my mind at the time, but it was definitely what I was feeling. It’s otay – you don’t have to share if you don’t want to.

  6. And maybe Judy is my Sister from a different Mister πŸ˜‰

I wouldn’t be surprised. But I’m not sure I’d tell Evyl, he might decide to kick your butt or something. πŸ˜†

  7. Maybe that is what Kenny Rodgers meant in his song with the First Edition “Ohhhh Rudy don’t take your Love to town ” πŸ˜‰

    Could be…could be. πŸ˜‰

  8. I wonder if the need to have our ego inflated from time to time, doesn’t bring out the green eyed monster in all of us? After all, that’s where any sort of rejection ends up kicking us…right in the good old ego. Whether it’s from a man, a friend, an editor, or some random stranger/blogger what have you. It’s then up to us to pick ourselves back up and get over it. Jealousy sucks though, it’s a nasty feeling. I was cheated on once and turned into a real pyscho checking phone messages, etc. I hated who I was becoming so the relationship had to end, but nonetheless, it can certainly take on a life of its own. Great post. K

    Hey K,
Yeah, all of the above is true – though I was kind of making fun of this. With the exception of truly tragic events – most of the time when we’re all vahklemped we don’t see the folly of it. Know what I mean?
