Beauty, We Hardly Knew Ye…

While Britney is off in Europe mumbling because she’s forgotten the words to her own songs and Paris is hurrying to be fitted for her prison jumpsuit – I think it’s proper we all take a moment of silence to honor every beautiful, vacuous and spoiled woman in American society.

That was nice, wasn’t it? I mean, these poor, poor, little rich girls are  having an awful time of it lately and frankly, I think they deserve our sympathy. I think we should hold bake sales and church bizarres and send the proceeds directly to their publicists – so they can at least get some decent hair, makeup and wardrobe advice.

I think we should do a celebrity run so we can earn the money to send Ann Landers to each of the Tartlet Sisters and school them in the basics of common sense. I mean, face it folks, they’ll be running the world someday. Don’t you think? Now before you dismiss this comment too quickly think about it.

What are two of the top search terms on the Internet in any search engine today. A-yup. Can you say President Hilton and Vice President Spears? Don’t laugh, the Terminator is the governor of my state and an actor from Law and Order is a fav pick for the upcoming election. Not to mention the fact that one of our greatest Presidents, in a previous life, had a chimp as a co-star.

In this high-tech, photo-shopped, air-brushed, teeth-bleached society we live in today – anything is possible. And as it has been true for generations, beauty always gets the first consideration.

You don’t really think that Hillary Clinton or Katie Couric look that good, do you? You don’t believe that Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts are really that beautiful, do you? You don’t actually believe that Madonna can sing, right?

Okay, okay – maybe we don’t really have that much to worry about when it comes to Britney and Paris (poor dears) because they seem unaware of the world around them. But you know, Sheryl Crow seems to think she has an opionion, Jennifer Aniston does too, Susan Sarandan and Rosie O’Donnel are on the band wagon as well.

If you don’t think any of these women aren’t considering a foray into politics then you really do think that Hillary has a soul.

Beauty, beware and so should the rest of us, too.

  1. i was discussing this very topic with one of my sisters yesterday. i think it boils down to our ideas of what beauty truly is. Beauty, in my opinion anyway, is a way. It is a way of thinking and behaving, moving and seeing.

i am so tired of seeing the spoiled fawned over, the rich worshiped simply for being rich. Why do we keep paying attention to their folly? i do because it’s funny. It’s like watching Jerry Springer show- it’s godawful but so entertaining.

It’s not that i disdain physical attractiveness. If i could be hot, i totally would. But what happened to depth? Kindness? Knowledge? Grace? Have these types of beauty become archaic?

Good thoughts, Chica. You have eagle eyes.

    Hey Christine,
Can I just say I love your new nickname for me – writer chica – tres’ cool. I think you’re onto something really right on. Beauty is all of those things and more. Though in the fast food approach to life these days, it seems some would rather have a quick and cheap burger rather than sit down to a gourment meal. Sad, really. But yeah, great fun to make fun of.

    later,
    Writer Chica 😉

  2. Can I say that I had all sorts of giggles reading this post, though it’s sadly true? I think you forgot to mention Lindsay Lohan (*shudder*), as I hear it, she wants to join politics as well.

I was talking to my good friend that moved to Europe while her husband finishes school, and we both commented how sad it is that society today is more concerned with which movie star is going to jail, making the money, or brain washing their popular wife– when there are obviously gravely more important issues at hand.

Sometimes I feel that every actor/actress in Hollywood has to have a political viewpoint, and it HAS to be controversial just so they can get attention. It’s not enough that they are rolling in money and on every movie poster or commercial or talk show– no, they have to get up on a soap box and preach about morals and values that they, themselves, rarely live.

Grr. Sorry. I have to stop now. This subject gets me annoyed. LoL Love ya!

    Hey Kenz,
I’m with you on that stuff. It is annoying as hell. And you’re right, I did forget ms slutty anorexic chick. What a waste of space these women are. It’s too bad too because if they had any sense at all, they might actually contribute something to the world besides gossips and over-excitment in young boys.

And hey, feel free to rant – that’s what I’m here for. 😉

  4. I think you’re right purdy and I ain’t ever seen a picture of you.

I could really give a rat’s ass, two shits and a flying fuck about Britney, Paris or WhoTheFuckEver. It’s the same shit like with Anna Nicole’s baby mama drama. I wish they’d all just get over it already!

Well thank ya, kindly ma’am. I know, all the hype is annoying as all get out, ain’t it?

  5. Hi WC,

Actually, I think Hillary is hot! Some handcuffs, a little leather, and, most importantly, a gag. Then, with a bottle or two of good wine, a nice cheese platter and, 48 hours of Ann Coulter lectures on CD… Ah, what a weekend!

    Hi Grit,
Hmm, now what kind of beverage have you been drinking? 😆 It would be quite the weekend. You could always tape it and post it on YouTube. I’m sure it’d be very popular. 🙂

  6. I’d like to know more about Jennifer Aniston’s take on politics. What type of stances are these women making?

It’s seems to be the usual, Hollywood-do-what-I-say-not-as-I-do rhetoric. I’m sure you could g**gle it to find out the specifics. Just as Rosie O’Donnell believes that fire and fuel can’t melt steel (ah, my dad was a steel worker for 35 years and I assure you, fire can melt steel) – there’s a lot of bad data among the celebs. They need to get out more.

  7. Beauty is one of those things that is a very personal perception. What I consider beautiful, you may not, and vice versa…..as for the whole beautiful people exploring politics, we have the opposite here in Aussie land, I mean have you seen our PM??!!

Ah…no, I’ve not seen your PM. Is he scary looking or something?
