Why Hillary Won’t Get My Vote

The 08 elections aren’t too far off and the campaigning will really wind up once Labor Day weekend hits, so I’ve been thinking politics lately. Not the day to day stuff, sometimes I can’t keep up and frankly, sometimes, it’s just too much. But I do like speculate and look at the landscape sometimes.

I’ve made no secret that I’m not a Hillary fan and have gotten in my cracks about her with the occasional post – but this time I want to spell out why I feel as I do. Don’t worry, it won’t be too political. And really some of my reasons may surprise.

The reasons (incomplete and in no particular order) why Hillary won’t get my vote:

1. Mean eyes. It’s one of those things that can’t be covered up with makeup or false smiles, photo lenses or filters. Even when she smiles, her eyes don’t. I could never trust someone who had mean eyes.

2. Hillary-care. A behind-closed-doors health plan with the 1st Lady as its architecht? It was so bad, apparently, that even her cronies couldn’t vote for it. And it was the first attempt (of thousands) on her part to be the President of the United States without having been elected. A blatant attempt to use her husband’s power to serve her own ends.

3. No sense of humor. Even when she tries to make a joke it’s forced and usually denigrates someone. People who cannot laugh at themselves have serious problems in my estimation. Too much ego to ever have any humility and probably feels they are incapable of making a mistake.

4. Doesn’t believe in anything (no real position on any issue). Aside from (obviously) wanting to run the free world, the woman is without purpose and position. Like her husband, her position on issues change with each new audience and demographic. Everything is surveyed and polled in order to determine what position should be taken. This means there is an utter lack of conviction in anything she says. She is apparently for everything and against everything equally.

5. She cheated. A resident of Arkansas one day, then after getting a multi-million dollar advance on a tell-all book (which apparently didn’t tell all), a purchase of a multimillion dollar home and voila, she was a New Yorker. So she could run for a Senate seat that was vacating. How does that classify her as representative of the people of New York?

6. She lied. About many things – but in particular, when she ran for re-election of above mentioned Senate seat, she said she would serve her full term. That she had no intention of seeking any other office during her term as Senator. Yet, somehow she is considered the front-runner for the Democrat party. Eh? I could spend a lot of time and space on this point, but I’d need a whole blog to do so and there are others out there who do it much better than I, so I’ll leave it at that.

7. The Two-fer. During Bill Clinton’s campaign, there were countless interviews, wherein they discussed their ‘co-presidency’ and how America would be getting two-for-the-price-of-one. In my mind, junk is still junk, no matter what you paid for it.

8. The Vast Rightwing Conspiracy. While I’ve no doubt that there are millions of conspiracies where politicians are concerned, this was merely a well-orchestrated ploy to take the heat off of her and Bill during the whole Monica-gate, perjury-gate, impeachment-gate fiasco. And the general incompetency of the Clinton presidency. Yet another attempt to blame others for a mess wholly and completely created by them.

9. Righteous Indignation. First of all, few people can carry this off and those who can, use it sparingly. That aside, this woman has no moral highground (at least as far as I could ever see, read or find out about) from which to pontificate. She criticizes the president for going to war, yet she voted to go to war (as did 98 out of 100 fellow Senators) then changes it up by saying he isn’t executing it wrongly. This, from a woman who has no military background whatsoever and whose husband did all he could to dismantle same. And whose largest accomplishment with the Department of Defense was to enact the ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ policy. Exactly, what knowledge, experience, understanding and expertise is she employing in making such a declaration?

10. She cares about no one. I dare anyone out there to find any truly selfless or caring act on her part. Without there being a ulterior motive for the action. And I mean acts not words. Words mean nothing if they aren’t backed up by actions.

11. Makes no difference. She has virtually made no difference or improvement in conditions in this country during her Senatorship. While it’s true that that could be said about many politicians – I’m talking about someone who wants to run the free world. Hell, even Teddy Kennedy tries to do something and authors bills that at least somehow agree with his rhetoric. If you don’t believe me, look it up. Look up how many bills she has actually authored. How many solutions she has actually tried or succeeded in implementing of her own origination.

12. No imagination or vision. We all know she wants to be the next President, but why? What vision does she have for the future of the country? What imagination has she ever demonstrated beyond envisioning herself in the Oval Office? In my mind, the great ones (and even some of the not so great ones) all had a vision. Ronald Regan envisioned a shining city on the hill, for example. What is her vision? Free healthcare for everybody? Nothing’s free, someone will have to pay for it. Don’t you think it’s going to be you and me? No involvement in Iraq and withdrawal of the troops? Is that a vision or a catastrophe waiting to happen?

13. No skill. Aside from talking a pretty good game and having lots of black pantsuits what skill does she bring to anything? She’s already said she isn’t Suzie Homemaker, she doesn’t cook, doesn’t seem to have any interest in children, education, the environment, etc. She just wants everything to be free for everybody except for those who have to pay for it. She hasn’t worked a job since the Rose Law Firm about 20 years ago – she and Bill have been living off the taxpayer for decades. She can’t dance, tell a joke decently or put people at ease. She can’t write, both her books were written by ghostwriters. She can’t even do her own hair and makeup (don’t believe me? look at some early pictures of Hillary).

14. Has no self-respect. While the woman has an ego bigger than the great outdoors, the woman has no respect for herself. She has remained married to a man who has continuously, openly and publically cheated on her. Why? You have to ask yourself what self-respecting individual would remain married to a cheating, lying, unrepentent spouse? The answer – power. She is willing to give up her integrity and self respect for power. To me, not a good reason and one which will cause heartache to the nth degree.

Okay, those are my reasons why I would never vote for Hillary and I suppose an explanation of sorts of why I find her nauseating. Nope, she’ll never get my vote. Will she get yours?

Update:

Apparently, someone has pasted this post into a myspace page where Hillary Clinton supporters go. As flattering as that is in a way, if anyone is using my content, without my consent, I insist it be removed. Several bloggers have linked to this post, properly, and I have no problem with that – but I do have a problem with bloggers who feel they’ve a right to go sneaky and underhanded and to use my content for their own purposes. 1. Hey lady, No. 14 was my main reason for thinking her a joke until I read the rest of your post. I agree that any woman who would tolerate that type of humiliation, that type of disrespect from her husband in front of the entire nation without so much as a “I’m going to cut your thingie off Bill” is not a woman. I can’t believe they are even considering her. Makes you wonder how many people she’s slept with to get to the top……. anabel

    Hey Girl,
Yeah, number 14 is the topper for me too. In my mind, she simply can’t respect herself to continue in such a relationship.

As to contemplating who and how many (people) she’s slept with – I don’t think I could go there. Though, it seems many are afraid of her. I just don’t know why.

“Mean eyes”: i agree. She’s very rigid. Eyes mean something. You can’t make them lie, even with practice.

    Ponificate- i love that word.

“No vision”: i kind of see her as a puppet of the liberal elite. You know, the folks that want to have their hands and say in every aspect of our lives. If she had vision, it’d be ‘their’ vision and they scare me. i believe in caring for the poor and defending our freedoms but they take it so far as to make a mockery of good intentions.

Well done, Chica. Everytime i read your work, i feel smarter!

    Christine,
I think you’re spot on about the –their vision thing. Yes, it would be whatever she was fed. And in fact they do make a mockery of the good intentions of regular folk like us.

Glad I make you feel smarter but I’m sure it’s some sort of accidental occurence. 😉

  5. Will she get my vote? Maybe, depends what I have to choose from. George W has the beadiest, meanest eyes I’ve ever seen, by the way; but I am not making the assumption you prefer him. I hope to God there is someone else to vote for.

    Hey Blogmom,
You know, after I read your comment I went to G**gle images and looked at several pics of W and I have to say I don’t see it. I even saw a couple of pics that I think were photoshopped of he and Hilary together – interesting.

The thing is, for me, this goes beyond party lines or political affiliations – this particular person, Hilary, I believe is truly dangerous to this country. Sure she says the ‘right’ things and there’s a lot of noise about how she stands for women or women’s rights – but where is this born out? She is a woman, but I’ve not seen anything in particular in her actions or legislature where she is a big champion of women. Sure she’s pro-choice but so are almost all Dems, so that doesn’t count. And that doesn’t necessarily count as being pro-woman, I don’t think. So, it seems to me the biggest thing about her is simply that she’s a woman and somehow that is going to make women’s lives easier in this country if she is elected. It hasn’t come to pass during her Senatorship, why would it happen during a presidency? Congress is actually the legislative body, they make and change the law, not the president. So, the likelihood of anything changing on that front if she or any other woman is elected to the presidency seems quite low to me.

As to who else is in the front of the pack – Barak Obama – he’s not a woman and he’s a junior senator I think. He has little experience and has had less impact from what I can tell than Hilary. So I don’t think he’s really a good choice either.

As to the other side of the aisle, I don’t know who will emerge as the front runner. McCain has the same mean eyes that Hilary has and apparently a similar temperment. Rudy is too liberal for most conservatives and same with Romney. So, I don’t have a clue who’s coming down that pike.

I guess we’ll see what choices we have soon enough.

Shocka: Hillary embellishes her background to liven up stump speech

“To most bloggers, authenticity is an important criterion. There is an allergic reaction to hypercautious politicians,” The Huffington Post’s Arianna Huffington wrote in an e-mail. “Hillary Clinton’s problem with the blogosphere is that she has been so calculating that you can smell it. Every thought has been processed through multiple channels in her and her consultants’ brains. It’s so fabricated.”

    Hey Ham!
Wow, who’d a thunk that me and Arianna would be on the same page? Of course, Arianna is always hopping from one page to the next. I think the far left don’t like her because she isnt’ extreme enough. Go figure. 😉

  10. wow, chick, you really do hate the woman!

some of your reasons are a bit unfair, like 11

also, who are the only two senators who didn’t vote to go to war? can anyone tell me?

finally, chick, you know my position on hillary: she is a woman, she is thew first woman to have a serious chance at running the world. and that is a sufficient reason for me.

    Hey Yucca!
True, I don’t care for the woman, but I wouldn’t say hate. I’d have to know someone to hate them and I don’t know her. And that also implies that I have arrived at my conclusions based on an emotion rather than facts. Which isn’t true.

Why is number 11 unfair? We are all judged on our performances. If we don’t do our jobs we risk losing them don’t we? If we are incompetent we are usually replaced with someone who is competent. Like it or not, politicians are supposed to be leaders and champions of the people they represent. It is their job to effect change and improvement. If they do not, then we have the right and possibly, the obligation to replace them. Number 11 points to her record, her results or lack thereof -how could it be unfair to use that as a yardstick?

Actually, I didn’t know your position on Hilary before this, Yucca. I knew that you had thrown out some debates on the issue but I didn’t get that you actually supported her. And I suppose, we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. The fact that she is a woman holds no sway with me whatsoever. The fact that she’s a woman doesn’t mean to me that she would be better as a president or any other type of leader. If Paris Hilton were running, I wouldn’t be swayed by her femaleship either. Nor Condi Rice. I think we have to look beyond things like gender, religion and race to the actual person who claims they want the job. A person doesn’t have to be my gender, a participant in my religion or be of my race in order for me to feel they can do that. They have to meet what I believe are the requirements for the job and have the skill, competence and wisdom for the job. Quite simply put, Hilary ain’t there – not for me. Sorry. 😦

I enjoyed your post. Once again, you verbalized a lot of my feelings.

    Hey Lolly,
It’s too bad that the Libertarian Party can’t get more traction – you have to wonder why. I won’t vote for someone I don’t support either – it’s too much of a compromise.

  12. WC,

in number 11, you complain that she made no difference to the country’s welfare during her senatorship… the reason why i said it was unfair is that she is just one new york senator… can we expect from one senator to make a difference for the whole country?

on fact/emotion: come on, your number 1 speaks for itself… isn’t that an emotional judgement?

anyway, we are on opposing sides of the barricade, it appears 😉

    Hey Yucca,
I actually don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect someone to get something done/improved/changed in six years (the term of a senator). Yes, of course we can expect one senator to make such a difference, others have and do. I’m not even talking about her championing one of my causes – I’m talking about anything. Any cause. To my knowledge she never fulfilled any of her campaign promises to her constituents, large or small. My point is this: our representatives/senators are sent to Washington to speak in our behalf, to help change conditions and improve life in our country. If they don’t do that, then yes, we can call them to task for it. Since I’m only discussing Hilary, I’m only talking about her record. I’m sure there are plenty of others about whom this can be said – but I’m not talking about them.

As to number one – I could have put it another way – I could have said, I see no life in her eyes, no soul, no spirit. Is that emotional? Perhaps, but what I meant to convey is that a person who has no life in their eyes is a pretty sorry individual and likely operates much of the time on their emotions and not the good ones. I don’t want someone who can’t relate to other human beings having their finger poised above the proverbial button, so to speak. I don’t want someone who sees the glass half-empty in charge. Because soon, all of our glasses will be half-empty. You see?

Yes, on opposing sides does seem to be it with us on this topic. 😉

  16. Writer chick,
I’m personally appalled by your blog. I am a die hard Hillary Clinton fan, i was not aware of this until someone had copied and pasted your whole blog on Hillary Clinton’s myspace page. For one I think it is a little bit immature of you to pick apart Hillary’s image, I don’t know how old you are, but I think that is disrespectful. I would really love to see what you look like. Also, Hillary was in the public eye since at least 1978 when Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas so all of his and her dirty laundry have been aired in public, i bet you have nice little scandals and secrets as well. We are human beings, we make mistakes, we have flaws, does that mean that we are bad leaders or bad people? Do you judge your boss based on what they look like? if your boss has “evil eyes” does that mean he’s evil? Do you judge the other candidates on their looks? if so, the only one that would actually win this “beauty pageant” would be Obama. do you think because Obama is good looking he will run the country better? you need to grow up WC, you need to start thinking about what’s underneath the surface and I know this is a free country and you have every right to write this blog, a lot of people obviously commend you for it, but also i will exercise my right to write back to you about this blog in a negative fashion.

    Hi Cassy,
Well, for someone personally appalled by my blog, you didn’t seem to have any problem visiting here long enough to make a comment. Also, considering I have written nearly 500 posts I doubt seriously that anyone has cut and pasted my entire blog on their MySpace page, and if they have they are in violation of copyright laws, as no one sought my permission to republish my posts on other sites. And I demand you give me their name and contact info because I want them to take it down immediately!

You accuse me of being immature and yet, you are the one who thinks that I haven’t a right to my opinion on my own blog. The problem with people like you is that you think that only you and your chums have the right to free political expression. Unfortunately for you and luckily for me, you are incorrect in your assumption. And while we’re on the topic of picking apart someone’s image, do you think it is mature of Mrs. Clinton to call the President of the United States a liar, especially when she knows that he is not? No, of course you don’t – you think that’s perfectly okay, I’ll bet.

And I’m curious, what on earth would my age have anything to do with my post about Hillary Clinton? Are only young and immature individuals likely to criticize her? If you would like to see what I look like, there are several pictures of me on this blog throughout various posts – but since my ENTIRE blog was cut and pasted into a MySpace page then you should have already stumbled across those. Hmmm…

As to Mrs. Clinton being in the public eye since 1978, so what? And no dear, I’m so sorry to disappoint you but I do not have any SEC scandals, real estate scams, nor have I gotten money for allowing foreign businessmen overnight stays in the Lincoln bedroom, nor any other bedroom for that matter, nor have I pardoned notorious criminals because they contributed to my campaign. Just your garden variety mistakes and blunders, like most normal people. But I suppose you’ll have to take my word on that one – since there is no way for you to verify that.

Yes, we all do mistakes and those of us who admit to having made mistakes are possibly worthy of second chances and the benefit of the doubt but in the case of the Clintons, they have never owned up to any of their ‘mistakes’ and have in fact, insisted that they have done nothing but been the victims of right wing conspiracies and (apparently) nasty ol’ people like me.

And as to the criteria by which I judge people – had you actually read my post about Hillary Clinton you would have noticed that I went well beyond appearances in explaining my dislike for the woman. Her eyes are mean, I don’t care if you agree with me or not. And ah, yeah if I had a boss with mean eyes, I’d be looking for another job because people with mean eyes are usually pretty nasty folks.

No, I don’t judge anyone on their looks – again, had you actually read the post you would have seen that – but you chose not to do that, so it is moot. And personally, I don’t find Barak Obama to be particularly good looking or a good candidate either.

I think you, dear, are the one who needs to grow up and realize that people are entitled to their opinions and that just because they don’t happen to agree with yours, that you haven’t the right to accuse them of immaturity and lecture them to grow up. And in fact, you have no rights where my blog is concerned. It is my blog and I say who can and can not comment here. If I chose to, I could simply send you to the spam box and be done with it. But, unlike you, I can handle different points of view.

I admire your pluck for coming here and speaking your mind – and I’m very glad you have found someone whom you feel you can admire and presumedly vote for – but I think the woman is poison. I don’t honestly care if anyone agrees with me. And perhaps that is the difference between you and I – I don’t care if people agree with me, because I am secure enough in my own views and ideas that I don’t require the approval of other people to live my life.

    Thanks for dropping by.

I understand criticizing Hillary for how she does her job, but for her appearance, you’re taking it to another level-and that is why I called you immature. I don’t see you picking apart the other candidates based on their appearances. I visited your blog to make sure you knew EXACTLY how I felt about your blog, and I was sure to make sure you were very aware of how I felt about it. the person didn’t copy every single blog, just this one-word for word almost, I’m not familiar with blogs and how they work, so that is why i didn’t specify this particular page.

    Okay Cassie,
Let me get this straight – you come here to my blog and brag about the fact that some little pissant friend of yours has stolen my post and put it on their creepy little MySpace page – which no doubt has increased her hit stats – which of course is A-Okay with you because you think anything you or your little friends want is yours for the taking – because like the good little socialist you are you think everything belongs to everybody. And that you have a right do so because you’re too damn stupid to understand The Constitution and think it means whatever you want it to mean.
Am I right so far, I think so.

Then you have the nerve to lecture me about what rights I have to think and what opinions I’m allowed to have on my own blog?

Yet, I was willing to engage you – willing to answer your points in a civil manner. Then you come back with this?

This high school, name-calling, ineffective child insult response? Puleeze!

The only reason you are saying these things is because you have NO substantive thoughts to communicate on the issue. It gripes you that I said something about somebody’s eyes? Are you kidding me?

This is yet another reason why I would never vote for this woman – her supporters. Namely, you. Rather than going about forwarding her message and trying to encourage people to see things from her point of view and her vision – you go around stealing and trying to insult people into agreeing with you. It’s not really surprising, because that is precisely what she does. So the fact that you are just like her, makes total sense.

You visited my blog to make sure I knew exactly how you felt about my blog. What makes you think I give a flying fish what you think of my blog, my opinions or me?

So take your bulemic, pathetic self and flush it all down the toilet – that way, there will be one less idiot in the world.

And give me a break – you’re not familiar enough with blogs to tell me who stole my post? So, what you’re saying is that you’ve forgotten your own url? You think I don’t know it was you who did it? Sorry, but unlike you, I’m not an idiot.

Stay off my blog and go bother someone else little girl.

With WC’s permission I would like to ask Cassy for one valid reason why Hillary is the best qualified for Commander in Chief. If she can’t do that then we will all know she is only, as “C” pointed out, here to incite… if that is the case then GREAT! let’s GET IT ON!

    Hey go for it, TRM!
I’ve been trying to get her to make a point for a while now. Must say, I don’t have much hope she ever will. And I’ve noticed too that she seems to show up late at night, when no one is around to challenge her. Interesting.
