All Is Calm

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty Christmas-ed out, as far as Christmas posts go.

Tomorrow is the big day and we’ll rip open packages given to us by those we love as they will the ones we have bestowed. We’ll settle in for a big meal, probably too big, but oh so tasty and possibly a Christmas movie or two. If it’s cold enough, maybe we’ll even get a fire going.

But mostly, we’ll give thanks for all the blessings in our lives – family, friends, snow-sprinkled nights, laughter and love. And prayers will go out to those far away who can’t be at our holiday table and whom we keep in our hearts.

I have to say that this year has been the most peaceful Christmas I have ever had in my life. Not because I don’t have a million things to do, because I have, nor because I’m not cooking up a storm, because I am – honestly, I don’t know why I feel as I do. I only know that I don’t have that horrible aniticipation, obsession, gift-craving, joy-forcing, monster wearing my skin this year. And you know what? It feels good.

I hope that every Christmas I have in the future feels just as this one does, calm, peaceful and filled with love and goodwill. And I wish for all of you the very same.

Love,
Annie

  1. Merry Christmas WC, may that feeling of calmness and love and peacefulness last you forever.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow as we are sweltering in the tropical heat and eating my famous chocolate balls. We’ll raise a glass to you and send you the pics to prove it ok?!
All the best, and all my fondest wishes

  4. Annie, how wonderful that you feel so peaceful, I’m so happy for you πŸ™‚
This is the most peaceful Christmas I’ve ever had as well – despite the fact that I have a head cold! CJ is cooking up a storm and all is well!
    Merry Christmas Annie! Sxx

Oooh, I love your new name it’s sort of like a newage perfume or something – oh yes, in a lovely crystal bottle. Merry Christmas, sweet girl.

  5. OOPS! Hi Annie, the comment above was from me! Have been playing around with setting up a new site and must’ve played too hard! (See what happens when CJ does all the work and I laze around at the computer?!!)

LOL – it took me a minute, but I figured it out. Now what are you doing starting a new site without telling me? Oooh, what’s it about?

  6. How wonderful to feel that. i have to say that the only time Christmas made me feel the opposite of Christmas- meaning i wanted to stick ornament hooks into my eyes and stuff tinsel down the throats of others- is when i worked at a grocery store. This time of year seems to bring out the best, yet the worst, in some. But i finally got it, that the stress of others need not be mine.

i am happy for you, for us and all who feel blessed & relaxed. Have the Merriest Christmas evah, Chica!

Oh Chica-Chica, you really know how to make me laugh. stick ornament hooks into my eyes and stuff tinsel down the throats of others I so know that feeling. But you’re right, the stress of others doesn’t belong to you. Have a wonderful Christmas in your cabin in the sky – give a pine tree a hug for me, will you?

I’ve thought of you often but been so sick I haven’t been able to keep my eyes open -literally. It’s something we’re working on though – always hoping.

Much peace and love to you Annie.

    Always love.

Hey Roobs, so sorry you’ve been feeling poorly – prayers going out to you – rest, dear one – we all love you.
    Merry Christmas.
    Always love to you too,

  8. It’s the Paxil and the Lorazepam, silly. LOL. Just kidding. I think there is a saturation point in life that you reach where you just are so full that nothing more can irritate you and it just flows over without causing a ripple in the water. It’s when you start feeling the love and peace emanating from you and pouring out. Nothing bad can get in when that happens. Sorry if that all sounds weird. It’s the only way I can explain it. Anyway, glad you got there and with you, I also hope for those kinds of holidays for everyone, all year round. πŸ™‚ Hugs to you, buddy!

Oh Teens! For as weird as I am already, can you imagine me on brain chemical shifting meds? Not a pretty thought. πŸ˜†

I like your take, about the saturation – and things just sort of flowing over you – yeah, it feels that way.

Merry Christmas my little impish buddy, chum, friend. So glad we bumped into each other. We’ll have to do our special
‘home planet’ Christmas handshake later, otay? πŸ˜‰
