Quick Update – Prayers Work!

UPDATE: I HAVE STARTED A BLOG FOR KELLY AND YOU CAN FIND IT HERE:

Hey Everybody, hope you’re having a good and safe holiday weekend.

I just wanted to give you a very quick update on my friend Kelly. She got successfully through her surgery, the swelling has gone down considerably on her brain and just last night I heard that she is responding to verbal commands. She is responding by moving fingers and squeezing hands.

Technically, she has not regained consciousness, but her responses infer that she is on the road to recovery and amazingly so. She is, indeed, living proof of the power of prayer. As you know, it’s been a rocky week for me and so much worse for her family – and I thank you all for your good thoughts and energies, prayers and well wishes. I know in my heart that they really did and do make a difference.

I would appreciate it if you could keep her in your prayers and thoughts – because she still has a long way to go to get back to normal life.

I’ve spoken to her husband and it is likely now that I will be going up to Seattle this weekend. I will bring my laptop and work and blog from there. I am strongly considering starting a blog for her – to act as an update on her condition as well as a place for her friends and family to stay in touch, swap stories and reassurances. If I do that, I will let you know – so that any who might be interested can check in on what’s happening.

Again, thanks so much for your prayers and God bless.

  1. Thank God.

    That is wonderful news!
Thank you for keeping us updated.
What a good friend you are.

It is great news, although, I think she is possibly pushing herself too hard. She is in a lot of pain and they believe it causes her a lot of stress to try to respond – so I guess it is a double edged sword. It is so like her though, to try to reassure her family when she is in such a state. One more reason I love her so much.

  2. That’s great that there’s been an improvement Annie. I’ll keep up the prayers. A blog for her would be a good thing I think. Another thing you could do would be to post the address of the hopsital and her name so people can send cards for when she does gain full consciousness. Someone from the US did that a while ago for a man who was very ill and he received cards of well wishes from all over the world!

Simonne, that is an excellent idea about the address for the hospital – I’ll see if I can get it from Mark. I’m sure the cards would pour in and that would be good for all of them. LOL – do I need to start another blog? Oy – I probably will.

  3. So glad to hear Kelly is making steady progress. More prayers and healing thoughts on the way, yes indeed. The idea of a blog sounds super. What a good way to open up the channels of communication on her behalf. Here’s wishing you a safe trip, when you go to Seattle. You’re such a good friend for her and her family. Take care. Keep us posted.

Need to call the airport tomorrow and see what’s up on the flights. Lots to do – but we’ll figure it out somehow. Yes, the blog probably is the thing to do. Still thinking of a name and how to present it. Will keep you guys posted.

  4. Thanks so much for keeping us posted. I’m so glad to hear things are stabilizing for her enough for surgery and all – that has to be a good sign. Prayers and thoughts and vibes still continuing though. Not letting up anytime soon, k? So glad she knows such wonderful people as you – she is a fortunate woman in many ways. She has a lot to live and fight for. 🙂

Thanks for the prayers. She is a fortunate woman indeed, but I’m the least of it. But thanks, hon – that’s sweet. For any further updates, check the Kelly blog – the link is in this post.

    Hugs,
