Walking on sunshine, riding a rainbow the tree of my yesterday showed me the way. Dreamy dreams and wild imaginings of heroes and gold passing the days.
Endless blue, benevolent sun freckled my arms and took me away. From petulant parents, squabbling siblings, nosy mcNosies and reality’s sway.
Sing me a rainbow
bathe me in hope
conjure a story
that no one has told
find a venue that offers me cope
Time isn’t ticking
as rainbows ride high
life is a mystery
with clouds passing by

Where is Christine riding her rainbow?
Your word choices and placement are striking in this piece. Like:
…the tree of my yesterday…
and
…benevolent sun freckled…
I really, really love this, Chica.

Hey Chica,
Well thank you darling – it was nice to have a brightly colored theme this week, don’t you think? I forgot how much I loved rainbows. 🙂

Wow! Hard to go wrong with rainbows, and you had me riding one here. There’s a song here too, just below the surface. I was almost humming as I read.
This one deserves a frame and a place on the wall.
Hey Girl,
It’s funny you should say that about the song – there was one somewhere, I felt it as I wrote this piece. Nice to know it somehow made it into the piece as well. Wow, frame it? Really? Thank you. 🙂

BTW, I’m curious how your creative process worked on this one. The picture and text meld so perfectly. Did the pic inspire the text, or did you write the piece and then go looking for an appropriate illustration?
Hey Girl,
Hmm…I think it was a little of both. I liked the picture and it reminded me of those lazy childhood days and sort of went from there. I think though that I did find the picture, among others first. LOL – something about the tire swing really appealed to me. 🙂
