An Old Irish Blessing
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day, everyone.
The first time I ever won a writing contest was back in 1970 something when I wrote a poem for the downtown L. A. newspaper for St. Paddy’s Day. I got free tickets to an Irish pub and I took my office mates out for green beer. There was a lot of laughter that day. I don’t drink green beer anymore and I’m not Irish, but I like this Irish Blessing, thank you very much.

Free tickets to an Irish pub? Was that Molley Malone’s by any chance? Highly recommend their pickled eggs. I too, stay away from green beer – but I like black beer. 😀
